Councilmember Leslie Baranco Martin

Councilmember Martin was appointed to the Council District 3 in 2000 and elected in 2002 and 2006, and served as Vice Mayor in 2007 and 2008.

Councilmember Leslie Baranco Martin grew up in the Bay Area. She is married and is the mother of two teenagers.

She earned a BS degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from U.C. Berkeley and a Juris Doctorate from University of California's Hastings College of the Law. She works for San Joaquin County as a Deputy District Attorney, prosecuting cases involving welfare fraud, code enforcement and other felonies.

Her mission is to make Stockton a clean, safe and beautiful destination waterfront city. She has received awards and recognition for her community involvement, including the Susan B. Anthony Award, and the African American Chamber's Women of Color Award. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, reading and gardening.
