Vice-Mayor Leslie Baranco
Martin
Vice Mayor Martin was appointed to the Council District 3 in 2000 and elected in 2002 and 2006, and appointed Vice Mayor in 2007.
Vice Mayor Leslie Baranco Martin grew up in the Bay Area. She is married and is the mother of two teenagers.
She earned a BS degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from U.C. Berkeley and a Juris Doctorate from University of California's Hastings College of the Law. She works for San Joaquin County as a Deputy District Attorney, prosecuting cases involving welfare fraud, code enforcement and other felonies.
Her mission is to make Stockton a clean, safe and beautiful destination waterfront city.
She has received awards and recognition for her community involvement, including the Susan B. Anthony Award, and the African American Chamber's Women of Color Award.
In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, reading and gardening.

Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Report to Congress
The US Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District released a draft Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Report to Congress to the public for comment today. As directed by Congress last November, the report identifies and prioritizes potential levee stability projects in the Delta. The Corps is collecting comments on the report until April 14, 2006.

Projects in the District
- Improvements at Buckley Cove
The Buckley Cove improvements are being funded by the California Department of Boating and Waterways. Improvements will include the demolition of the existing raised concrete gangways and installation of new articulating floating docks like the most easterly dock system installed several years ago; removal of launching ramps and replacement with wider ramps; extending the existing ornamental iron security fence to enclose the entire parking lot; and re-striping and landscaping the parking lot.
- March Lane-El Dorado Street Improvement Project
El Dorado Street is one of the City's heavily traveled north-south corridors included in the Stockton Streets Improvement Project (SSIP). The approved specific plan encompasses the widening of El Dorado Street between Yokuts Avenue and Bianchi Road to accommodate, in general, three northbound lanes, two south-bound lanes, and dual left-turn pockets at major intersections.

Located in front of the Sherwood Mall, the 7,200 square foot restaurant features
pasta cuisine and strolling opera singers. Construction was
completed in 2003. 100 employees.

This facility was expanded by 100, 000 square
feet, with 2 acres of additional parking.
Completed in 2004.
