Office of the City Auditor

Service Efforts and Accomplishments

An annual Service Efforts and Accomplishments (SEA) Report is prepared by the Office of the City Auditor.  We prepared this report to provide the City Council, management, and citizens with an independent, objective assessment of past performance to strengthen public accountability, improve government efficiency and effectiveness, and support future decision making.  Our first annual SEA report was issued on December 21, 2007 for the fiscal year (FY) ended June 30, 2007.

The report is intended to be informational and is comprised of two components:  overall citywide and department information and results of the National Citizen Survey conducted of area residents.  Each city department is presented in a separate chapter.  We provided the department’s mission, sources and uses of funding, staffing levels, performance measures, and in most instances, comparisons to other cities, and survey results.  The survey was conducted to obtain citizens’ perceptions and evaluations of various areas including quality of life, characteristics of the community, safety, use of amenities, public trust, and services provided by the City.

The National Citizen Survey™ is a collaborative effort between National Research Center, Inc. and the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).  A survey will be conducted annually in the fall with the results incorporated in our report.
