ACT was created in 2004 to revitalize a key neighborhood in South Stockton.

In 2006/2007 Fiscal years, the following activities are underway or completed:

  • Code Enforcement completed a sweep of the neighborhood to identify and correct health/safety/blight issues
  • A Streetscape Beautification Consultant completed strategic planning/design process. Construction of Phase I through Phase III of the Streetscape Project was prioritized for funding by the Strong Neighborhoods Initiative project and will begin construction in 2007.
  • Undergrounding District formed for specific PG&E Poles and construction will be completed by late spring 2007
  • MUD completed engineering and construction of the drainage project on the west side of Airport Way
  • Phase I of the Neighborhood Service Center celebrated a groundbreaking in September 2006, and construction is underway
  • Neighborhood Service Center Phase II and III are currently in the design and funding process.
  • In October 2005, Make a Difference Day project repainted existing Coalition United For Families Site.

The mission of the Airport Corridor Action Team (ACT) is to revitalize the Airport corridor neighborhood, plan for change, and implement urgent action required for the long term success and economic stability of the area. Input from the community and commitment from city and county government will be keynotes of this Action Team.

The Action Team is made up of City and County staff, non-profit agencies, community groups, churches, residents, property owners and business owners who live, work, service, and/or volunteer in the Airport Corridor area. The primary boundaries for ACT Team efforts are: Charter Way to the North, Carpenter Road to the South, the UPRR/SPRR railroad tracks to the West, and Bieghle Street to the East.
